Kalasha International Film & TV Market, first edition [fr]

As the French Embassy is committed to developing the audio visual industry in Kenya, we are proud to be a key partner in the rebranding of the Kalasha Film & TV Awards to Kalasha International Film and TV Festival, Market and Awards.

Kalasha International Film & TV Market, first edition, was a success!

As the French Embassy is committed to developing the audio visual industry in Kenya, we are proud to be a key partner in the rebranding of the Kalasha Film & TV Awards to Kalasha International Film and TV Festival, Market and Awards. A brand new initiative from the Kenya Film Commission in partnership with the French Embassy in Kenya, that aims to position Kenya as the leading country that will stimulate intra-trade and worldwide activities in the film and TV fields in East Africa.

Dedicated to promoting cultures, stories, creativity and skills within the East African region, the festival and market’s duration is of one week and is organized on an annual basis.

For the first time, Kalasha festival was therefore comprising of :
- the Kalasha Eastern Africa Film & TV Trade show
- the Kalasha Film Festival
- the Kalasha Film & TV Awards.

The event, a creative hub, brought together, for the first time, all the players from the Eastern Africa Film & TV industry in one place and at the same time; offering a platform for all the regional and international players and the festival goers from the Film & TV industry to gather, discuss, exchange, collaborate, share stories and develop new business opportunities. In line with this, the embassy in consultation with the Kenya Film Commission are happy to have brought on board Media Pros Africa who helped us make Kalasha International Film Festival a world class event.

We expect Kalasha International to initiate new collaborations, exchanges, business opportunities within the region and worldwide, to contribute efficiently to the national growth of Kenya and the region and impact tourism revenues as well as to gain expertise and skills and provide employment opportunities.
