Madam Annick Girardin condoles with Moi University administration
The Secretary of State for Development and Francophonie, Annick Girardin, met this morning with the Chairman of Moi University board and Garissa University College, Prof. Jenessio Kinyamario and Ambassador Dr. Hukka Wario, the Vice-Chancellor of Moi University, Prof. Richard Mibey, director of campus Garissa University College, Prof. Ahmed Warfa and the dean of the school of physical and biological sciences Moi University, Dr. Ambrose Kiprop who is also the vice president of the association of former Kenyan students in France.
Madame Girardin expressed her condolences to the families of victims of the attack in Garissa and wished a speedy recovery to the injured students.
She then recalled the solidarity of the people and the French government to Kenya. France is engaged in its own territory and in many parts of the world against terrorism, and is ready to cooperate more closely with the Kenyan government to prevent new attacks in the country.
Finally, she announced the provision by France, a fund to help the wounded students and survivors of the attack to get on with their lives and their studies, the terms will be defined in the coming weeks in close consultation with the administration of Moi University.
